Nothing!  You basically invite a bunch of people that you don't know to your house.  They give line after line about how they are the best and what you "need", often up selling every chance they get.  You hire the one that you feel most comfortable with that won't break the bank.  But, when the time comes, you find out the guy was like a politician.  They promise you the world but give you a migraine instead.  You went with their recommendations because you thought they had your best interests in mind.  However, they just wanted to pad their pockets while giving you a lick and a promise.

My number one rule is to treat others how I would like to be treated.  I am straightforward and will give you my honest opinion on what will work best for your particular needs.  If that means that I sell you less fence, or a less expensive fence, that is what I will do. Sometimes what you had in mind might look good on paper but doesn't work for your situation.  Bottom line, I want you to be so happy with the entire experience that you tell everyone you know.

SHORT VERSION OF WHAT TO EXPECT:

You call, I answer.  I give you my recommendations for what suits you best.  We install a great looking fence that uses the best materials available.  You are 100% happy and tell everyone you know.  And finally, you invite me to your next BBQ because during this process we went from strangers to friends.

LONG VERSION OF WHAT TO EXPECT:

1. You call or email me and I actually call or email you back right away.  Crazy right?  Most companies don't call or email back for some reason.  Drives me crazy when Im trying to throw money at them and they can't even call me back.

2. We setup a time that is convenient for you to look at your property.  I do most quotes after 4pm during the week because most everyone works and really don't want to be bothered on their days off.  That time should be spent doing things they actually like to do.  Oh, I actually show up when I say I will.  Nothing is worse than waiting for a guy that either late or doesn't show up at all.  Time is the most precious thing we have and I will not waste yours with excuses. 

2a. If you already received a quote you can let me know the measurements and I can work up a quote without coming to your house.  If you like the price I would still need to come out to verify measurements and any issues.  There have been several times that my quote actually comes down in price because the other company over estimated the amount of fence due to your situation and needs.

2b. I can even do estimates without coming to your house.  If you don't have a lot of trees on your property I can use Google Earth to take measurements and work up a price.  Obviously I would have to come out to verify measurements and to see if there are any issues.  While not perfect, the price is usually within $100 of the original quote.

3. Once you decide to use my company you would sign a contract.  It shows the amount of the deposit, the amount of the final payment, the approximate start date, and the warranty information for workmanship.  There are no catches or anything shady.  Again, I treat everyone how I like to be treated.  

4.  You will see me at a minimum at the beginning of the project and at the end to verify everything is up to MY standards.  You don't install fences and I don't expect you to notice any hidden flaws.  Not that I expect any, but I do not want to be called back to see you anymore because of any issues.  Don't take it personal, I have made tons of friends that I still speak to and would love to come over for a BBQ.  But, I don't want any issues to pop up down the road and cause you any grief.  Again, I treat everyone how I would want to be treated.  And yes, I will definitely come for a juicy burger, just ask!
